In 1986 Zac Walters founded the Australasian Institute Of the Shaolin Temple Boxing Inc. The same year he competed, fought, and won at the 1987 Kung Fu Championship in Melbourne, Victoria which was organised by GrandMaster William Chueng. Zac retired from tournament in 1987.
Zac began training with Mr. Fong Lee, Grandmaster (Bak Siulun Gi Wushu Pai) in 1996 and began competing again during the same year under the banner of Zac Walters Shaolin Temple Boxing.
He toured New Zealand with the Australian I.S.K.A team in 1997. Zac also competed in N.A.S (National All Styles) where he won first place ACT N.S.W. Newcastle, and took out 2nd place at the Nationals, held at the Gold Coast in the Demonstration Division. Zac was part of the N.S.W. National All Styles Representative Team in 1997.
Zac has over 300 championship trophies to his name. In the year 2000, Zac Walters, now Grandmaster, was inducted into the International Sports Karate Association (I.S.K.A) as Kung Fu Instructor Of The Year. Zac's last competition was at the World I.S.K.A. Championship where he won 1st place and lost during the Grand Championship Finals. Zac was 49yrs old at the time and was still competing. He has competed against Masters of various styles and systems: Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Arnis, Kung Fu, Free styles martial Arts Masters, etc, etc, etc, and have gained their respect.
In 2007 the Zac Walters Shaolin Temple Boxing has merged with the Multicultural Fijian Association Inc. to work and serve the World Community in community services and to foster good will and friendship. The beginning of 2007 saw Zac awarded with the Gosford City Australia Day Community Award for his long time services to the Australian Community, and Life Time Membership into the United States Martial Arts Association.
